With so many magical things to do and wonderful places to visit during your visit to Florida your initial budget can quite easily fly right out of the window. There are however a few things a family can enjoy together for free.

Following are some places or activities we've found that may be of interest. They are initially free to enter or utilise but there may be costs if you require additional services to those specified so keep a clear mind on what you've planned.
Spook Hill - 5th St, Lake Wales, FL 33853
Is this phenomenon caused by unruly spirits or is it just an optical illusion?

Experience the gravity defying mystical force as your car gets pushed to the top of the hill. Park your vehicle on the white line, put it in neutral then sit back and enjoy the ride.

The legend says that an Indian Chief settled his tribe on the lake that is now known as Lake Wales. After several years of peaceful living a bull alligator started harassing the tribe with nightly raids so the Chief, a great warrior killed the alligator in battle to the death.

Spook Hill has become known to be one of the most confounding potentially haunted locations. Is this phenomenon the evil spirit of the alligator seeking revenge, or is it the chief still trying to protect his land?
Fort Christmas - 1300 Fort Christmas Road, Christmas, FL 32709
This 25 acre park features a replica of the fort that was built nearby on the 25th December 1837 by the US Army and Alabama Volunteers to protect European settlers during the Seminole Indian war.

The original fort has long since gone but the replica fort along with settlers homes, ranch house and a school have been interpreted to showcase pioneer life from the 1870s through to the 1930s.

There are many events scheduled throughout the year from Cowboy Reunions to Militia Encampments. Please check out the Fort Christmas page of the Titusville Area Community Guide for more information.
